GEOHAZARDS CONSULTANTS INTERNATIONAL, INC.

These pages give a brief overview of our Company and its capabilities. This site will eventually be enlarged and moved to a separate corporate Domain address.

Geohazards Consultants International Inc. (GCI) is a field-oriented company specializing in geohazards appraisals, risk reduction, and provision of general expertise in the field of volcanology. GCI was founded and incorporated in August, 1995 by John P. Lockwood, in cooperation with several geologist-colleagues who are each experts in diverse fields of geologic hazards research and appraisal. These associated geologists, located in several countries, are Independent Consultants, not employees of GCI. As Sub-Consultants, they can be quickly assembled into specialist teams for hazards assessments in any volcanic area on Earth. Together, our associated GCI experts have over 200 years of experience in geologic hazards evaluations. Our company is based in Volcano, Hawaii, but offers its services wordwide.

Services we provide include:

Geologic site investigations in volcanic terranes worldwide
Appraisals of hazards in volcanic areas, including eruptions,
earthquakes, landslides, and tsunamis
Reduction of geologic risk to planned or existing developments
Specialized geologic mapping of volcanic areas
Establishment of regional or local seismic monitoring networks

COMPANY PRINCIPLES / VALUES
GEOLOGIC HAZARDS ARE CAUSED BY NATURE; GEOLOGIC LOSSES ARE CAUSED BY POOR PLANNING.........

GCI's mission is to reduce the potential for such losses through better planning and education. We are dedicated to providing high-quality services to our clients at the lowest possible overall cost, while maintaining high personal and professional integrity and quality standards. We recognize that the long-term success of our firm is based on client satisfaction, rather than upon short-term project profitability.
